Version 2026-10-02. [Draft: have an attorney review before launch]
These are the rules for using the Big Rig Butler app and this website. We wrote them in plain words. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
Safety comes first
- You are the driver. You are always responsible for driving safely and for obeying road signs, signals, weight limits, height limits, truck restrictions and the law. If a sign or a police officer tells you something different from the app, follow the sign or the officer.
- Routes and reports can be wrong. Routes, directions, ETAs, road reports, parking reports, weigh station status, dock notes, fuel and shop information and market rates are aids. They come from map data and from other drivers. They can be late, missing or wrong. Check your truck size, weight, hazmat and permits before you travel.
- Do not use the phone while driving. Federal rules (49 CFR 392.80 and 392.82) do not allow a commercial driver to text or to hold a phone while driving. Set up your route and reports before you roll, use voice answers, or pull over safely first. Never look at or touch the app while the truck is moving.
Not a registered ELD
The hours-of-service screen is a manual record that you type in. It is not a registered electronic logging device (ELD), it does not read your engine, and it has not been self-certified with the FMCSA. Do not rely on it to meet the federal logging rules. Warnings about your clock depend on what you enter, so they are only as accurate as your entries.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and use the app for lawful work.
- Keep your sign-in email and authenticator app to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings > Delete my account) or by following the steps on this page.
- We may suspend or close an account that abuses the app, posts false or abusive reports or notes, or breaks the law.
What you post
Reports, notes and ratings you share are shown to other drivers without your name or email. You allow us to show and keep them to run the app. Post only what is true and what you saw yourself. Do not post anything abusive, private or against the law.
Subscriptions and billing
Billing is not turned on yet. When it is, paid plans will renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly, every 6 months or every 12 months) until you cancel. You will be able to cancel in the app or in your app store account, and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you paid for. Prices, trial terms and the refund policy will be shown clearly before you pay. Fees and market rates are shown to every account.
Third-party data
The app uses data and services from others, such as map and routing providers, and it may link to or show their information. We do not control them, and their terms can apply to your use of that data.
No promises, and limits on our responsibility
The app and website are provided as they are, and we cannot promise they will always work, be on time, or be free of mistakes. To the most the law allows, Map Level Services is not responsible for fines, tickets, delays, lost income, damage, injury or other loss that comes from using the app or trusting its information, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new version number and ask you to agree to it again in the app.
