Big Rig Butler

Truck routing without the runaround

View plans
Big Rig Butler. A black semi truck dressed like a butler, with a tuxedo bow tie and a white shirt front on its trailer, charges toward you. Three silver serving platters carry the promises: More money in your pocket, More time driving, and Less stress about your clock. The headline reads, "Big Rig Butler. At your service."

Built by a working trucker, for truck drivers

More time driving. More of the money you earn. Less stress about the clock.

Truck-aware routing, stops on the way, reports from other drivers and bill of lading scanning, in one affordable app. Made for owner-operators, company drivers and hotshot drivers, on Android and iPhone.

  • Bill of lading scanning
  • Now in testing on Android and iPhone

Routes built for your truck

Routes planned around your truck's height, weight, length and hazmat class. Pick your truck and trailer from a list and the app fills in typical sizes for you, or type your own.

Stops on the way

Find fuel, truck parking, rest areas, food, truck washes, repair shops and scales near you, then add them to your route. The map shows the miles and time to your next stop, and your arrival time counts the time you spend there.

A map you can read in the cab

A full-screen driving map with voice guidance. Pinch to zoom from a few yards to hundreds of miles, and slide along the route to look ahead. It stays where you put it until you tap Follow truck.

Reports from drivers

Parking, diesel prices and road problems like low bridges, closed roads, wrecks and construction, from drivers who were just there. Other drivers confirm them, so old reports drop off.

Less math about your clock

Break and drive-time reminders from your phone's location, so you get a heads-up before you need a break, not after.

Paperwork done for you

Scan a bill of lading with your phone camera instead of typing it in. Keep a fuel log with miles by state for your fuel tax report (IFTA).

A first look

What the app is being built to do.

Please note: these pictures are concepts. They show the idea, not the finished app, and they are subject to change before launch. The places, times and numbers in them are made up.

Concept picture of the Route screen. A destination box, a button to calculate a truck route, a summary showing 312 miles and 5 hours 20 minutes, the next turn with voice guidance, and a list of stops with arrival times.

Truck routes, turn by turn

Type where you are going and get a route built for a truck, not a car. The app leaves out low bridges and roads that do not allow trucks, speaks the next turn out loud, and shows when you will reach each stop.

Concept picture of the Report screen. A list of road problems to report: heavy traffic, accident, construction zone, road closed, breakdown, low bridge and trucks not allowed.

Reports from drivers

Saw a closed road, a low bridge or a wreck? Tap it in and the next driver knows before they get there. You can use your phone's location so you do not have to type where you are.

Concept picture of a rest area check-in. The latest driver report says parking is almost full, with buttons to say how full the parking is and whether the stop is open.

Parking reports

Before you pull in, see what the last driver there said about parking. When you get there, tell the next driver with one tap.

Concept picture of Settings. Switches to avoid toll roads state by state, and lists for choosing which diesel brands and which repair and tire shops to see.

Your choices, your way

Avoid toll roads one state at a time. Pick the fuel stops and the repair and tire shops you actually use, and skip the rest.

Concept picture of the Fuel log. Miles per gallon, miles driven, and a table of miles, gallons bought, gallons used and the difference for each state.

Fuel log for fuel tax

Keep your fuel purchases and your miles in each state in one place. The app works out your miles per gallon and the gallons bought and used in every state, so your fuel tax report (IFTA) is not a pile of receipts.

Concept picture of Settings. Your truck's height, weight, length and hazmat class, governed speed with plus and minus buttons, text size, light or dark mode and screen direction.

Made to fit your truck and your eyes

Enter your truck's size and weight once. Choose big text, light or dark mode, and portrait or landscape, so the screen is easy to read in the cab, day or night.

Concept pictures only. Screens, words and features may change before launch.

Real screens

Straight from the test app drivers are using now.

Screenshot from the test app. Truck routing profile: pick the truck year, make, model, cab and trailer.

Built around your truck

Pick your truck and trailer and the height, length and weight fill in with typical numbers. Change any of them.

Screenshot from the test app. Truck size settings: overall height, width, length, gross weight and empty weight.

Your size and weight, once

Set your height, width, length and weight one time. Every route after that is made for your rig.

Screenshot from the test app. Toll road rules: Default, Allow or Avoid for each state, named by its toll pass.

Toll roads, state by state

Avoid tolls in one state and use them in the next. Each state shows its toll pass name.

Screenshot from the test app. Saved locations grouped by shipper or receiver, fuel stop, parking, yard and other.

Your places, sorted

Save shippers, receivers, fuel stops, parking and yards so the next trip there is one tap.

Screenshot from the test app. Truck parking spots shared by drivers, with a search radius and a button to add a spot.

Parking other drivers found

Dirt lots and gravel pads drivers actually use, shared by drivers. Add one where you are parked.

Screenshot from the test app. Repair and tire shop brands with on and off switches.

Only the shops you trust

Turn repair and tire shop brands on or off, and the app only suggests the ones you use.

Screenshot from the test app. Truck wash picker with Turn all on and Turn all off buttons.

Washes you actually use

Pick the truck washes and trailer washouts you want to see.

Screenshot from the test app. Trucker news and talk with topics like border and ports, rules, weather, parking and pay.

News and talk from drivers

Border alerts and talk between drivers. Others see your nickname, never your account or exact spot.

Screenshot from the test app. Renewal reminders for your CDL, medical card and hazmat endorsement.

Never miss a renewal

Add your CDL and medical card dates and get a warning 60 and 30 days ahead.

Screenshot from the test app. Your miles: total miles driven with the app, a milestone bar and the states driven.

Your miles add up

See the miles and states you drove with the app, and share them if you like.

Screenshot from the test app. Dock ratings: how long the wait was and how the parking was, saved anonymously.

Rate the docks

Tell other drivers how long you waited and how the parking was. Ratings are anonymous.

Screens from the test version. They may change before launch.

Our mission

More money in your pocket. More time driving. Less stress about your clock.

I spent decades in IT support before I became a truck driver. Now I can see what the people who built other trucking apps never saw from behind a desk. I am building the app I wish I had out on the road.

1

More cash for drivers

Too many middlemen take a bite out of every load. Today, drivers share diesel prices so you can find the cheapest fuel on your route. Coming soon: a load board that shows every fee up front and the market rate on the screen, so you can see where every dollar goes.

2

More time driving

You should never have to type the same thing twice. Scan your paperwork with your phone, and the app fills in the rest.

3

Less stress about your clock

The app keeps an estimate of your break, drive, shift and weekly clocks from your phone's location and warns you before they run out, so you are not doing math in your head at the end of a long day. It is a helper, not your ELD. Coming soon: reading your hours straight from your company's ELD.

Join the waitlist to hear the moment sign-up opens, before anyone else.

Beta testers wanted

Want to test it first?

We are picking up to 50 drivers to use the app on real runs before launch and tell us what to fix. Android and iPhone.

  • Use it before anyone else. Try new features as they are built.
  • Free while you test, plus a free year of navigation after launch for testers who give feedback.
  • Your word counts. You talk straight to the driver who is building it, and your reports decide what gets fixed first.
  • Help other drivers. Every report you send makes the app better for the next truck down the road.
